Coach Margaret L. Thomas

Coach Thomas is an experienced Track & Field Coach (distance), ultra-marathoner, marathoner and half marathoner. Over the past decade, she has successfully coached both youth and adult athletes to achieve their running goals. She is a USA Track & Field (USATF) Level 1 certified coach, an RRCA certified coach and is Safesport certified. She is the Distance Track Coach at Buford Middle School (800m, 1600m & 3200m distances) and recently helped coach the girls team to their first ever win of the 2022 GHSA Middle School State Championships. She also does private coaching for running groups and individual athletes. Coach Thomas loves working with all ages, experiences and backgrounds, and believes you CAN achieve anything you set your mind to! ~Coach Thomas lives in Buford, Georgia, with her husband, two dramatic high schoolers, one laid-back middle schooler, and a cat who thinks he’s a person. When she is not coaching, she enjoys SEC football, reading, and traveling to new (and exotic) places.~
